Preparing the Cabin

Preparing the Cabin

Today was an exciting day. A lot of the new furniture arrived today. I had purchased a nice large dining table, large enough for all of the guests to be able to dine at during dinner time. I also got some new couches and chairs for some of the casual sitting areas in some of the shared areas. Another exciting purchase were the beds for all of the rooms. I ended up purchasing some Tempur-pedic adjustable beds for the guest rooms. They were quite a bit more expensive, but I am hoping it will add that extra touch that people expect when they go stay at a place that isn’t their home. My goal was to make the guests feel just like they were at home, and maybe even better than their home so they won’t want to go back – HA!

Other than assembling a few end tables and such, I’ve also gotten a head start on some painting and plumbing/electrical issues that needed to be addressed. I had a painter come and repaint the common areas to give it a more vibrant feel. I also had some issues with a few switches that weren’t working properly and had a couple light fixtures replaced while the electrician was here. I also had some new water fixtures added, so I had to call a plumber for those too. All of these are things that I could do myself if I wanted to, but considering the time crunch I’m in, I figured it best to just outsource a bit of the work to save me time.

Well, I have to get busy, so not much time to chat now. More updates soon.
